About the Central Lodge and Mews
Independently run by the Marsden family since opening in 1999, the Lodge has built up a reputation for friendliness and excellent accommodation at sensible prices.
We are located in the town centre, off Lord Street, below the Methodist Mission along a stone cobble lane (in former years the location of the old town well. Within 500 meters you will find the Huddersfield Sports Centre, University of Huddersfield, Kingsgate Shopping Centre, The Lawrence Batley Theatre and the Railway.
Some of the rooms are “studio rooms” and have self-contained kitchenette with dining area, ideal for extended stay visitors.

We offer a vast amount of facilities including:
- All rooms being fully en-suite with all modern facilities. The rooms all have Freeview channels, complementary tea/ coffee tray, direct dial telephone and trouser press.
- A fully licensed bar serving Draught/Bottled, Beers and Lagers along with a selection of wines.
- The forty square metre conservatory built Spring 2005 has a bar service in the evening, a lovely place to relax any time of the day or evening. There are two 42" plasma screens in the lounge bar and conservatory.
- Full English breakfast included with all room rates and is served in the lounge and conservatory.
Our breakfast has an award from the Tourist Board for the use of locally produced and supplied Yorkshire produce. Many items are organic from local farm shops.
- Huddersfield and it's local surrounding areas history corner.
- The switchboard is manned 24 hours with porter service throughout the day and night.
- An award winning, high security car park located at the rear of the Lodge and free overnight parking is available to all our residents.
- Entry to the reception and spacious lounge is via the main door or direct from the Secure Car Park.
