PLACES TO EAT & VISIT...

WOKS COOKING

For an evening meal without leaving the Lodge, why not try the “Woks Cooking” experience!

There is a wide range of restaurants and take-away’s in the area, who will deliver to the Lodge or in some cases we can collect for you. Hot plates and cutlery is provided, and you can enjoy your meal in the Lounge, Conservatory or in your room. A list of menus from various outlets is in reception for you to choose from and is regularly updated.

PLACES TO EAT

There is a wide choice of quality eating venues within 10 minutes walk. Italian, Greek, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Mexican, French, Persian and Argentinian in addition to traditional or modern English restaurants and cafes, plus of course Pub food and Take-aways.

SPORTS FANS

Huddersfield’s award winning Galpharm Stadium (formally the McAlpine) is approximately 1 mile from the Lodge. The stadium is home to Huddersfield Giants Rugby League club and Huddersfield Town Football Club. The venue also hosts Rock, Pop and classical concerts, most recently visited by Blue, Darius and Girls Aloud.

The Huddersfield Sports Centre is located 200 meters from the lodge with swimming pool and gym facilities.

PLACES TO VISIT

Within approximately 10 miles you will find Holmfirth, home to “Last of the Summer Wine”. The village of Marsden was the location for “Where the Heart is”.

Local museums include The National Mining Museum, The Museum of Film, Television and Photography, The Royal Armouries and Eureka!

SHOPPING

The Kingsgate Shopping Centre located 400 meters from the lodge complements an already vibrant shopping area within the town centre.

Sainsburys and Tescos supermarkets are both within 500 metres of the Lodge and are open 24 hours Monday to Saturday and until 4pm on Sundays. Both also have 24-hour filling stations.

TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE

Located inside the Town Centre library and open until 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
